Addimus brings a much-improved approach to financial planning, and the last few months have resulted in a working demo that begins to illustrate the big idea.
This evening the Addimus team completed its first application for venture capital with a working demo, and we couldn’t be happier. Coming very shortly will be a tour about our service and even the demo stage for interested parties. We can’t wait to share more of what we’re up to.
It has been a month of achievements for the Addimus team with our expectations exceeded every week.
The back end and database structures were almost easy to implement with Ruby on Rails. Even though some team members have used it in the past, the task took far less time than we anticipated. This left hours and hours to trouble-shoot the software structure integration. We’ve changed some functionality between Ruby and Javascript, but generally things are going as planned.
The GUI, the rest of the front end, and the database are all now working in concert. It is an other-worldly experience to see the web service we’ve been planning for months start to take shape. Conversations naturally turn to all the unseen items we could add, now that we have begun to build planned features. There’s so much to do!
For other web developers out there, the Addimus team would like to reinforce a basic piece of advice we saw in action this month: plan your database structure in depth before writing the first line of code. Our team’s extensive discussions about data flow and data structure make each day of implementation so easy.
Momentum continues to build. Can’t wait to share more!
After a month of work, the Addimus front end is about to complete its first stage of development. The team grows more excited by the day.

This weekend we’re off to raise a glass for this first major accomplishment. Next week we’re taking this momentum to the back end.
